Yesterday, each Forney ISD campus announced their 2018-19 Campus Teachers of the Year — recognizing those with strong senses of value, integrity, and professional ethics. Additionally, according to Forney ISD, the Campus Teacher of the Year should also be dedicated, knowledgeable, and a skilled teacher who inspires students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn. Campus Teachers of the Year should also seek to carry out Forney ISD’s vision by 'Inspiring Students through Innovative Education'.
North Forney Indoor Percussion Ensemble captures second place at world competition
The North Forney Indoor Percussion Ensemble recently competed in the group’s first ever appearance at the Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championships. The competition, held on April 11 and 12 in Dayton, Ohio included numerous percussion ensembles from across the country. North Forney High School’s Indoor Percussion Ensemble is the first ensemble from Forney ISD to appear at the WGI World Championships.
Forney ISD recognizes district nurses for National Nurse Week, names Nurse of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards
Joyce Rosales, the school nurse at Criswell Elementary School was named the Forney ISD Nurse of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year. Stacie Brown, the Forney ISD Coordinator of Health, Wellness & Safety presented Ms. Rosales with the honor during a ceremony celebrating all Forney ISD school nurses on Wednesday, May 8.
Forney softball team honors fallen teammate, raises over $14,000 on Play For Em night
The Forney softball team, which won the Class 5A state title last season, were surprised with new uniforms and raised nearly $15,000 as part of Play For Em night against North Forney on Tuesday. Play For Em is a foundation created for fallen teammate Emily Galiano, who has a twin sister, Madison, a junior on the team.

During the Chamber of Commerce December Luncheon, Forney ISD Fine Arts Director Mario Luna was excited to introduce Forney’s new middle school choir director, Sam Brukhman.
