Forney ISD Announces the 2021-2022 Campus Teachers of the Year

Forney ISD recently announced the 2021-2022 Forney ISD Campus Teachers of the Year for each school in the District. Forney ISD has eight elementary schools, three intermediate schools, three middle schools, two high schools and one alternative education school. Congratulations to all of the 2021-2022 Forney ISD Campus Teachers of the Year!

Forney ISD Named the Best Community for Music Education for the Eighth Straight Year

For the eighth straight year, Forney ISD has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. The Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

Forney ISD Board Calls for May 2022 Bond

At a special called board meeting on Feb. 17, the Forney ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a May bond referendum proposed by the Facilities Planning Committee. The bond package to go before voters in May will not increase the district's tax rate. The district tax rate is currently $1.37 and has lowered 17 cents over the last 3 years. Unprecedented enrollment growth is expected in the next few years as housing demands have increased across Forney. The latest quarterly enrollment report forecasts a staggering 25,000 students in five years, and 35,000 students by 2031. The report is based on the latest data of housing starts, inventory, land use and enrollment trends presented by leading demographer Zonda Education.

Forney ISD delivering the future of education - Opportunity Central

The OC is a 350,000 sq ft, three-story building designed to bring career training, college access, and community integration into one campus. Scheduled to open in 2023, students from Forney High School and North Forney High School will enroll in innovative programs offered on the campus and will be bused in throughout the day.

Forney ISD receives unprecedented enrollment forecast: 25,000 students in five years; 35,000 students in 10 years

Forney ISD’s 2021 fall student enrollment stood at 14,351 including 1,570 new students. The latest forecast shows a revised projected student growth of over 2,400 new students next year, with an average of 2,000 new students each year for the next 10 years.

Forney ISD Cheer Squads Earn Top Honors at NCA Competition

The Warren Middle School, Forney High School and North Forney High School cheer squads recently competed in the 2022 National Cheer Association (NCA) High School Cheer Nationals. All three squads returned home from the competition with top honors.

Forney ISD AFJROTC Cadet Earns Full Scholarship to ROTC Cyber Academy

Forney High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, (AFJROTC) Cadet Blane Duplissey has been selected to receive a full-paid scholarship for the second-annual Air Force Junior ROTC Cyber Academy. There are more than 120,000 AFJROTC Cadets nationwide and only 100 AFJROTC cadets were chosen for the academy.


North Forney High School Unveils New Logos

North Forney High School recently unveiled new school logos to all of the students and staff members. The new designs were developed with students, teachers, staff members, administrators and parents working with the Forney ISD Marketing and Communications department to develop the new logos.
