Inspiring in the classroom.

Today’s teachers have the difficult task of motivating and engaging a generation of young people raised with smartphones and the internet. Forney ISD teachers are pushing students to succeed both academically and creatively every day. The district’s fine arts departments are considered among the best in Texas, and FISD students are consistently recognized for their scholastic achievements. Since 2018, 12 students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholar Program. Forney students exceed state averages for testing and graduation rates. SAT and ACT scores are rated higher than the state average, and 88.4% of our students graduate with a distinguished diploma, versus the state's 75.4%. Additionally, more Forney ISD graduates enroll in Texas institutions of higher education such as public universities or vocational schools than the state average.

Excelling in competition and in the community.

Forney ISD is committed to providing opportunities outside of the classroom that are exciting and relevant for students, so they can develop confidence in themselves and pride in their community. The Forney High School Highsteppers Dance Team was recognized as HTE Dance Tops in Texas as well as the National Grand Champions. North Forney High School’s Indoor Percussion Ensemble is the first ensemble from Forney ISD to appear at the Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championships, and they were awarded second place. Students across the district participate in our annual Pack the Pantry event to benefit the local food bank—last year we collected over 42,000 items for those in need. North Forney High School even hosted a prom at the local Ridgecrest nursing home. Throughout the year, our athletic teams are encouraged to perform community services as well; the NFHS football team provided car washes for the community and volunteered to help teachers set up their classrooms.
